Comedian Byron Allen Sells Hollywood Hills Home for $6.25 Million

Byron Allen, the comedian and talk-show host, bought a home in the Hollywood Hills for his mom, but she had other ideas: She wanted to live in a gated community, where she perceived she would have more security.

So Allen listed the midcentury modern he had purchased, and after more than two years of being on the market and three years of being vacant, the house has sold for $6.25 million.

The remodeled house has four bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms in 3,562 square feet. The one-story home, with walls of glass, has views of downtown L.A., Century City and the ocean. There is also a pool.

Allen, 48, hosts "Comics Unleashed with Byron Allen," which premiered in 2006, and he produces a number of other TV shows, such as "Beautiful Homes & Great Estates."
